Our Omowale wall print celebrates the life of Pearl Primus,  a Trini/American dancer, choreographer, anthropologist and proselytizer for African Dance.

This vibrant wall print features titles of Primus's most notable dance performances and is perfect for dance enthusiasts, historians, and anyone inspired by Afro dance.

Primus played an important role in the presentation of African dance to American audiences.

She received the last and largest ($4000) of the major Rosenwald Fellowships for an 18-month research and study tour of the Gold Coast, Angola, Cameroons, Liberia, Senegal and the Belgian Congo.

The Oni and people of Ife, Nigeria, felt that she was so much a part of their community that they initiated her into their commonwealth and affectionately conferred on her the title "Omowale" — the child who has returned home.
